San Fran Tips

Tips for San Francisco

-***Brenda’s French Soul Food – AWESOME Cajun/Creole – good for lunch, but does get busy.

-Suppenkuche – good german, another popular spot

-**NOPA – never been, but been on the list a while.  well known

-Saigon Sandwich – bahn mi spot for snack

-Swan Oyster Depot – small little place for fresh seafood with a ton of character.  lunch.

-Bar Crudo – good $1 oyster HH special (look up times)

Brunch in North Beach:

-***Mama’s in North Beach for brunch.  get their early.  highly advise getting the monte cristo — best I’ve ever had (nor is it disgusting like some)

-Liguria Bakery- they run out of focaccia around 1ish every day.  right across from mama’s.  def worth stopping by for a snack

The Mission: spend a weekend afternoon in the Mission.  Burrito or something for lunch.  Hang in Dolores Park and people watch.  Walk Valencia from like 16th to the 20’s.

-***El Farolito – my fav burrito in the mission.  when it’s on, it’s the best.  when it’s not- it’s still very good.

-Zeitgeist (outdoor bar for drinking) – fun beer garden to soak up rays during the day.  15th and valencia

-For coffee:  Four Barrel, Ritual Roasters

-Mission Chinese- non-traditional chinese, awesome!  look it up/menu

-Limon Rotisserie – great peruvian food – ask for suggestions – flavors are awesome

-***Foreign Cinema (dinner) – look it up, a cool dining experience.

If you’re feeling a really nice dinner:

-Gary Danko – needs no explanation

-Chez Panisse (in Berkeley)

A lot of these spots aren’t really expensive or fine-dining.  They’re just really good.  But that’s the beauty of SF.  I think you’ll enjoy.
